Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what SweetChat collects and how we use it when you use sweetchat.in and related services. SweetChat is an interactive character story chat platform with optional user-created characters and community features.

2. Information we collect

• Account data: email, password (stored hashed by our auth provider), display name, username, age, gender, about text, avatar, and settings such as NSFW preference and personalization fields you choose to save.
• Chat and usage data: messages you send and receive with characters, character starts, resets, rate limits, and usage counts we need to run free tiers, fair use, Premium access, and abuse prevention. We may expand per-user metering over time.
• Characters you create: names, descriptions, story fields, covers, visibility (private / unlisted / public), and content rating (for example SFW or NSFW).
• Payments: checkout is handled by Stripe (or similar). We receive payment status and entitlement data (for example Premium active until a date). We do not store full card or UPI numbers on our servers.
• Technical data: IP address, device or browser type, cookies or similar IDs (including guest identifiers where used), logs, and basic analytics needed to secure and improve the product.

3. How we use information

• Provide login, chat, character pages, and profiles.
• Apply your NSFW setting so mature catalog items stay hidden until you opt in.
• Enforce free limits, fair use, Premium features, and rate limits.
• Process Premium purchases and restore access after payment.
• Host public characters and community content you choose to publish.
• Secure the service, prevent abuse, debug issues, and improve quality.
• Send important service messages (for example security or account email). Marketing email only if we offer it and you can opt out.

We do not sell your personal data to third-party data brokers. We may use analytics or advertising tools (for example conversion tracking) that process limited technical data under their own policies.

4. Sharing

We share data only as needed to run the service, including:

• Infrastructure and database providers that host SweetChat.
• Authentication and email delivery providers.
• AI model providers that process chat prompts to generate replies.
• Stripe (or similar) for payments.
• When required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and the platform.

Public characters and public profiles are visible to other users by design.

5. Storage and security

We store account data, chat history, and content using industry-standard cloud providers and encryption in transit. No method of storage is 100% secure. You should use a strong password and keep your account private.

6. Retention

We keep data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service, meet legal duties, or resolve disputes. Chat history may be deleted when you reset a character chat or when we process an account deletion request.

7. Your choices and rights

• Update profile and NSFW settings in the app where available.
• Reset individual character chats to clear that history.
• Request account or data deletion by emailing support. We will process reasonable requests subject to legal retention needs.

8. Children

SweetChat is for adults 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a minor has an account, contact us so we can remove it.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. The date at the top will change when we do. Continued use means you accept the updated policy.
